Different ways to use essential oils

There are many ways to use and experience essential oils. Below you will find few of them.

  • Diffusing

You can use diffusers; there are a lot of options out there, some work with water and some not. Diffusing essential oils can also be enjoyed using diffusing jewelry, using cotton balls placed into a glass bowl or creating a scented pouch, for easy steps how to create one visit our page. Looking for ideas for creating blends? Check our diffuser recipe page.

  • While taking a bath

Nothing is more relaxing than enjoying a bath with your favorite essential oil. You can enjoy them in different ways; you can mix a few drops of essential oil with a carrier oil or mix it with Epsom salt or baking soda. Include the oil after you have poured your bath, otherwise the oils will evaporate too quickly. You can also create fizzy bath balls which are simple to make, fun and really good for the skin. You can find the steps on how to make them on this page. And you can always add the use of a diffuser in the bathroom to create a spa ambience.

  • In the shower

Steam the shower and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to your liking to the bottom of the shower. When under the shower, you can always add some more. The steam will lift the essential oil, which is really good for allergies, stuffy nose, trying to wake up or to relax depending on what you need at the moment.

  • In shampoo

Love using essential oils in shampoo, which leaves the hair shiny and healthy. Rosemary for example helps to give volume to your hair and helps it grow, while Cedarwood can help with dandruff and Tea Tree can help with scalp issue as well as Lavender. Pour the shampoo in your hand, pour 3-4 drops of the essential oil and massage your hair and scalp. Avoid the eyes and mouth. Rinse it. When you have dried most of your hair, moist your hands and use one drop of essential oil and massage your hair. Love the scent, the feel and help at keeping your hair healthy.

  • In soap

Using essential oil with your soap helps the skin to stay healthy. Leather your hands with soap and pour 1 drop of essential oil. Avoid eyes, mouth, ear canal and sensitive parts. Peppermint is really nice after a workout, or for the need to cool off.

  •  Oral hygiene

Pour one drop of Peppermint essential oil on the toothpaste. It will leave you with a nice feeling of fresh and clean mouth. Do not swallow. For an extra clean feeling, take a glass of water and pour 1 drop of Peppermint essential oil and switch.

  • Skin application

If you plan using essential oil on your skin, make sure to dilute the essential oil first in carrier oil like Jojoba, Coconut, Sweet Almond or any others you like. For better absorption it is best to apply the essential oils on a clean skin free of sebum. This is the dilution guide.

  • For infants: 1 drop of essential oil to 1 tablespoon of carrier oil.

  • For children: 1 to 2 drops of essential oil to 1 teaspoon of carrier oil.

  • For adults: 3 to 6 drops of essential oil to 1 teaspoon of carrier oil.

Before bedtime, you can massage your feet with some of your favorite essential oils which can help with sleep and relaxation.

  • Kitchen

When cleaning the sink, pour 1 to 2 drops of essential oils to refresh. In a clean sink, you can put a drop of essential oil to put a nice scent around the sink area. You can clean and refresh your kitchen by using a multi-purpose cleaner for which you can find the steps on this page.
